Thailand 2023

I was only in Thailand for a few days it was the last stop on my  A & K (Abercrombie & Kent) Images of Indochina trip.  We flew from Phnom Penh to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport.  If you can have someone meet you here do.  It is one of the most confusing airports I’ve ever been in and I’ve been in quite a few.

I am always so grateful to A & K for the service they provide you get to a foreign country and someone is waiting for you.  So comforting to me. Usually you are exhausted my flights are long.

I really enjoyed this segment of my trip it was fun riding the boat and Tuk Tuk.  Our location was great but didn’t love our hotel.  I saw enough that I want to go back.

Accommodation

I stayed at the Peninsula Bangkok it was a beautiful room great view large. I wasn't thrilled because my room smelled a little moldy and they have dehumidifiers on in the hall on my floor. I could have complained but we already had one person that was complaining constantly and I just didn't want to. It was only two nights. Everything else the food at the hotel, amenities were wonderful. Also great location because you could get on a Supatra boat and go across to great shopping. We were on the water.

1.  Tips

Go to the floating market it was amazing. I also loved the Maeklong railway market a bit out of Bangkok but so much fun.

2. Packing Tips

We didn’t have packing restrictions on this trip we were allowed a normal size suitcase. Ladies bring a pair of closed shoes. One of the restaurants wouldn’t let me in because I had sandals on.

Currency: The official currency of Thailand is the Thai  Baht (THB). 1 THB is equivalent to 0.030 USD.

Credit Cards & ATMs:  Credit cards are accepted everywhere.  There are ATM’s I don’t use them I just feel I’m in a foreign country better safe than sorry.  I didn’t exchange any money, USD was accepted pretty much everyplace.

Final thoughts

I am disappointed I wasn’t in Thailand longer but guess I will have to go back.  Bangkok is very metropolitan I felt safe everywhere  even if i took a stroll alone.

My tour guide Luk was just amazing so knowledgeable and kind to us all.  Being my first time in Asia it was great having such a guide.

So many more places to go.  I have India planned for October but of course not normal its three days of the normal trip I’m sight seeing then into the jungle! Safari! So excited I want to see the Bengal tigers hope I do.
